From 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will apply. This law gives you as an individual more privacy rights. Nothing fundamental will change in the way we handle your personal data, but we have mapped out how we do this for you.
What personal data do we process?
Personal data
Due to previous business contacts, personal data such as your name and business (contact) details may be in our database and project archives. We have collected this personal data based on the information you have provided yourself during the business relationship between you and us. We store only those data that are necessary for the effective performance of an agreement. This is done on the AVG basis: performance of an agreement. The data generally stored are:
- First and last name
- Your role, position or function within your organisation
- E-mail address
- (Mobile) phone number
- Office and/or postal address
Newsletter
Opt-in
Human Safety Alliance only sends a newsletter if expressly authorised by an activation email. We state the frequency of sending in this activation email and will not exceed it. Registration of consent, your name and e-mail address are stored.
Unsubscribe
Per newsletter received, the receiver can easily and directly unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of the newsletter.
Contact form
When you fill in the contact form on our website, we only process the data you yourself provide to us based on your consent. This is at least your name and your e-mail address. In addition, you can provide the following data: telephone number and a message/question.
The data is collected and stored in order to provide you with a response. As we receive the completed contact form as an e-mail, we do not treat this data differently than if you had sent us a direct e-mail.
By providing us with the data, you give us permission to use the data for the above-mentioned purpose and to store it for a maximum of 1 year. The data will not be shared with others.
If we still want to use your data for other purposes, such as sending you a newsletter, we will first ask for your permission to do so. We therefore process your data pursuant to Article 8 sub a and sub b Wbp and in accordance with GDPR.
Cookies and Log Data
Human Safety Alliance uses Google Analytics to measure visitor statistics. The last octet of website visitors' IP addresses is removed by Google Analytics, rendering them anonymous. Apart from anonymised IP addresses, no other personal data are used. For detailed information on Google's collection and processing of your personal data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
Job applications
Human Safety Alliance retains applications by letter, e-mail or video no longer than four weeks after the end of the application process. If it is desirable for Human Safety Alliance to retain personal data longer than these four weeks, initially assuming one year, explicit consent will be sought from the candidate.
What personal data do we process?
Personal data are stored in the servers of our website hosting company. A processing agreement has been concluded with them in which the security of this data is state-of-the-art. They exclusively use data centres in the Netherlands, equipment they use to provide services to Human Safety Alliance is located in the Netherlands and is subject to Dutch legislation.
Retention period
We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose of data processing and, where required, in accordance with the time limits set by law.
Security
To secure your personal data, we have taken the following measures:
- Servers and devices of our employees are equipped with current security software, such as virus scanner and firewall
- We only send data via secure internet connections (SSL)
- All computers and other electronic devices are equipped with (personal) passwords
- All our employees are aware of the security requirements within the company.
With whom do we share personal information?
Human Safety Alliance will not provide or sell your personal data to third parties, unless there is a need to do so in the execution of our business activities (based on the AVG basis: execution of an agreement). Both internally (employees among themselves) and externally (subcontractors), agreements have been and will be made to guarantee confidentiality.
Changes to the privacy statement
Human Safety Alliance reserves the right to make changes to the Privacy Statement. Therefore, please check the privacy statement regularly for an update of the privacy policy. We will also actively communicate changes via the newsletter.
Duty to report
If there is a data breach or hack that poses a risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects, this will be reported to the regulator, the Personal Data Authority, as soon as possible.
Your privacy rights
As we process personal data about you, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data. There is also the possibility to object to the processing of your personal data.
If you have a complaint about how we handle personal data, we would like to hear from you. In addition, you always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Authority.
